Field Trip Policies
Please review all policies before registering for your Field Trip:
Deposit Policy
Deposit: a $50 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is required at the time of registration. Payment of the deposit may be made by credit card or, if registration is mailed, school cheque or money order payable to: Edmonton Space & Science Foundation. Please do not mail cash.
Confirmation: upon receipt of deposit, you will receive a confirmation of your field trip. Please allow 10 days for processing.
Final payment: is due the day of your visit. Adjustment in cost due to a decrease/increase in group size will be made at the door.
NOTE: in the event that you must cancel your field trip, the $50 deposit is not refundable.
Cancellation Policy
• Full Program fee will be charged if less than 48 hours notice is given.
• For severe inclement weather conditions – you must call to cancel a program. If less then 48 hours notice is given because of severe inclement weather than:
o You will not be charged if you re-schedule the booking in the same school year OR
o You will be charged $50 if the program is not rescheduled
School Group Admission Policy
School Group: Definition
A group of students and their supervisors shall be considered a school group if they are participating in a field trip organized through:
a) an institution accredited by Alberta Education (or equivalent from another province or country)
b) an organization licensed by Alberta Social Services for supervised child care
c) Home schooling
School Group: Supervision
All school groups require adult supervision during their field trip as follows:
Required Chaperones (minimum requirement):
Grades K-3 require 1 chaperone* per 5 students
Grades 4-12 require 1 chaperone* per 10 students
Additional adults above the ratio requirement will be charged the regular public rates for IMAX and the General Admission rates will be charge for Margaret Zeidler Star Theatre shows and Exhibit Galleries.
* Chaperone(s) and teacher(s) accompanying the school group will be charged regular school rates for IMAX films and Margaret Zeidler Star Theatre programs, and will be admitted free to Exhibit Galleries and Interpretive Programs.
Teachers and chaperones are responsible for the behaviour of their group and are required to supervise and stay with students at all times during their visit to TELUS World of Science.
School Group: Admission Fees
• School group admission fees are as publishedand are subject to change without notice.
• No passes, coupons or discounts are accepted with school group bookings.
• TELUS World of Science Annual Member rate not valid on School Program Fees.
School group admission fees are in effect Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., September to June (excluding school holidays). School group admission fees are available to all schools, including home schools and ESL groups, as defined in “School Group: Definition” (see above), providing the field trip is booked at least 15 days in advance of arrival.
Arrival at TELUS World of Science
Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of your program. Teachers must check in at the Box Office to provide updated numbers and payment. Our Guest Relations staff will greet you in the lobby and direct you to your program.
Please note: as a safety precaution LATE GROUPS WILL NOT BE SEATED ONCE AN IMAX FILM OR MARGARET ZEIDLER STAR THEATRE SHOW HAS BEGUN!
Late arrival for the Interpretive Programs, Science Demonstrations, Science Labs, and Exhibit Gallery Tours MAY RESULT IN PARTS OF THE PROGRAM BEING OMITTED.
NOTE: Heelies, roller blades and skateboards are not permitted in our facility.
