TELUS World of Science - Edmonton is home to the world’s most immersive movie experience – the IMAX^® experience! Breathtaking, crystal clear images of unsurpassed size and clarity are enhanced by a superb multi-speaker sound system that brings movies to life — larger than life-  on our giant 13m x 19m screen.

IMAX Show Schedule

Our IMAX Theatre accommodates the hearing and visually impaired.  Part of our mandate is to allow science and technology to be accessible to everyone.  We have installed a pair of systems that enable both hearing and visually impaired visitors to fully enjoy the IMAX experience.

Closed Captioning (RW^®C)

Visitors with a hearing impairment will use a mirror platter, which is mounted to the seat in front of them, to read LED-produced text of the film that is reflected from an LED board mounted on the rear wall of the Theatre.

Descriptive Audio (DVS^®)

Pre-recorded scene-by-scene description of what is being projected on the screen is provided through headsets via an infrared FM listening system to our visually impaired visitors.
