Experience something brand new this summer!

Edmonton, AB – Whether our visitors are looking to find something fun to do on a rainy day or for a great way to beat the summer heat, our General Admission ticket offers a wide variety of new experiences to enjoy:
  • Tales of the Maya Skies is a brand new full-dome show that debunks the myth behind the 2012 Doomsday predictions by uncovering the science behind the ancient Maya civilization. Using full-dome digital technology, the show reveals the art, mythology and astronomy behind the Maya culture and provides a glimpse into how the people were able to make sophisticated and accurate predictions about the natural world.  Plays daily in the Margaret Zeidler Star Theatre at 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m.

  • Participants in our new Inventor’s Workshop put on their thinking caps and drop in to tackle a new mystery challenge each day. Our Interpreters assist visitors of all ages to engineer inventions such as parachutes, skyscrapers, catapults and air gliders. Visitors can also let their imaginations go and create something that they can take home with them. Inventor’s Workshop runs daily between 12:30 - 4:30 p.m.

  • Our Science Demonstrations bring science to life for our visitors as our interpreters perform amazing feats for audiences such as create clouds, raise hair with electricity, demonstrate kitchen chemistry and make soda pop and ice cream from scratch. Science Demonstrations run daily, every hour between 12:00 – 5:00 p.m.

  • Visitors are encouraged to stop by and introduce themselves to one of our interactive new robots, The Professor and Commander Julie Rocket. The friendly new personalities are out on the floor to answer questions and engage visitors in lively conversations. Daily between 12:30 – 4:30 p.m.

  • At our Exploration Stations, our Interpreters will show visitors a glimpse into some of the latest issues in science.  These interactive displays are found in our themed Exhibit Galleries and cover hot topics in the areas of health, astronomy, the environment and forensics. Daily between 12:30 – 4:30 p.m.
