HORSES: The Story of Equus opens in IMAX
14/06/10
It’s every horse lover’s dream: A runaway Black colt, a mischievous Bay colt and a courageous Chestnut filly. Add a strong storyline, amazing aerial shots and thundering excitement and you have the key ingredients to the latest film in IMAX to open at TELUS World of Science – Edmonton, presented by The Horses at Northlands Park, and Horse Racing Alberta.
As one recent online reviewer put it, “You don't need to have an interest in horses to enjoy this film. The photography, direction and sound will blow you away—the aerial shots from the chopper worth the price of admission alone. This is meant to be seen on the big, big screen.”
Horses - The Story Of Equus begins on a gentle, spring night at a world-famous stud farm. Three foals are born, their bloodlines stretching back over centuries, their futures bright with promise. We see them through their early days as they learn what it is to be a horse. Separated from their mothers after five months, they run together, free of training and obligation until the day of the yearling sales—the day their future arrives. Three unique stories begin as we follow the lives of each of the beautiful animals, each story with the spectacle and emotion—and heart-stopping large screen format—to connect with and hold your heart.
With art, science and drama, Horses - The Story of Equus shows we owe a debt to the noblest animal of them all. But above all, the film reminds us of why so many of us love horses.
